Web Standards

When I build you a site one of the things you can take for granted is that your site will be what is known as standards compliant. Web standards are an evolving set of standards which means that for example, different web browsers display your site in a structured way. Most people use internet explorer so you site must look OK when you use internet explorer. Compliance with current web standards also means that your site may also appear in a usable way if some one views it on their mobile phone or some other internet enabled device. It also helps users with disabilities use your site using a text reader for example.

Web standards are a huge topic and this is only meant to give a very brief introduction to some of the practical reasons why they are important. There is much on the web about this and it is way to big a subject to get into in detail. All you really need to know is that with many designers you would have to specify that you want a standards compliant site but with us you get one anyway.
